The City of Casey has kicked off four major road upgrade projects for Clyde and the surrounding area to better connect residents and broaden the possibilities through a better flow of travel throughout the municipality.
With Growth areas like Clyde continuously thriving and expanding, more people are making the move to vast horizons, these road infrastructure projects will help to relieve traffic along the major north-south arterial routes of Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Clyde Road, by constructing alternate routes and new intersections, which will provide direct access into new communities, like Riverfield!
The major road projects include:
Tuckers Road
Continuing previous upgrades to the northern section of the road, these works will upgrade the southern section from its intersection with Hardys Road to offer a safer, more consistent, and efficient commute.
The upgrade to this stretch of Tuckers Road will complement the works already underway on Ballarto Road leading to Riverfield, ensuring the journey to our community is as smooth as can be once complete.
For more information visit the Tuckers Road project page.
Hardys Road
Hardys Road will be upgraded between its intersection with Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Pound Road. Works will also include the construction of a new signalised intersection and multiple intersections at various new residential estates and the future Hardys Road Major Town Centre.
For more information visit the Hardys Road project page.
Bells Road
As a new north-south arterial road, Bells Road will stretch from the Monash Freeway’s Beaconsfield interchange to Clyde, while providing direct connections to the area’s new communities and significantly broadening access to surrounding arterial roads.

South Gippsland Highway and Glasscocks Road intersection
This major project will connect Glasscocks Road to South Gippsland Highway and include a signalised traffic intersection, providing an alternative east-west link to Thompsons Road. The works will help improve travel times and road safety for vehicles and pedestrians in the Cranbourne North area.

With Clyde well on its way to becoming a flourishing suburb and the wider City of Casey area growing by the day, these road upgrades are a welcome development for locals. As our community grows, it’s fantastic to see infrastructure being delivered to help improve the daily lives of current and future residents. And with many of us thinking about heading back to the office soon, these improvements come just in time to ensure a smoother commute for all!
